It is with some trepidation that we start our hopefully long journey through retirement.  As some of you know this has been planned over many years (since 1992 in fact and I have the spreadsheet to prove it).  As in anything new in life, we are taking a chance.  The chance that we will love what we plan to do.  We have hedged our bets on this one as we have owned a boat for several years, chartered a few times and vacationed for weeks on our boat. All permitted us to take a pre-plunge to see if the lifestyle was good for us.

We are April 28, last day of work, the work desk is clean, planning is finished, the first shipment of boat stuff is gone, packing of the rest is half way done and the plane tickets purchased.

I left the office for the last time and took a pictures for posterity.  Feelings are a bit melancholic with a blend of trepidation, joy, sadness and nervous anticipation all at once.

Bye bye working life

Last day,last hour,last minute. Desk is clean, I am done for the working part of my life

And now for the start of the new adventure…
